Around 60 representatives from all of Europe, including Russia, the Middle East, gathered for our Annual BFD meeting. The weather was warm and sunny with breathtaking autumn colours in the surrounding forest.

Last weekend many Young parents with their families gathered in the beautiful place of Seebenstein. We held a Workshop on the topic of education specially for younger children. Continue reading
Representatives from every continent, a total of 17 couples, including one from the Muslim faith, participated in the Holy Wine and Holy Blessing Ceremony in the German workshop center Camberg.
On the eve of the event the couples attended a lecture on family relationships and listened to the testimony of a young 2nd Gen couple.
More than fifty parents gathered at the seminar centre in Camberg, Germany, for a Parents Matching Convocation (PMC) on the weekend of 7-9 October. Organised by the Blessed Family Department (BFD) with European Second Generation Department (ESGD) support, these events offer practical and spiritual support to parents who are working to find a spouse for their son or daughter. Eighty people gathered at the Parents´ Matching Convocation in Gräevenwiesbach Youth Hostel, Germany, from Friday 19th. to 22nd. November.

This was another opportunity for parents to learn how to go about the responsibility of matching their adult children, and also to ‘network’, meeting other parents to share fellowship, as well as
perhaps receive Heaven’s guidance to find the ‘right family’. About 40% of participants came
simply to observe and learn, rather than to present their children. This way they were able
to gain confidence before starting the process of matching their children.

On Saturday, Dec 12, we held a One-Day seminar for sisters in Unity House, Dublin. It was sponsored by the Blessed Family Department of Ireland.
Finland, 9th and 10th May 2009
Twelve 2nd generation young people between 17 and 21 years old attended the full program of the Blessing workshop on the weekend of 9th and 10th of May 2009. The young people and their parents as well as other adults attending – partly or in full – are so very grateful for Geros Kunkel to have agreed to come to Helsinki to conduct the workshop here in the far north. Also, Geros had agreed to convey all the contents of the normally 3 day-workshop in merely a two-day weekend.

In January a Group Leaders’ Training Workshop was held in München, Germany, as a basic course for future group leaders and family counsellors.With the goal to reach and educate those, whose aspiration or position in the UPF demand the uneasy task of assisting members facing difficulties in their life of faith, their family life or their personal growth, Thomas Schuh and Irma Körtvelyessy, put together a programme providing the basic skills needed for group leading, education and support.There were 21 participants from several european nations, Geros Kunkel, responsible for the European Blessed Families Department, Thomas Schuh and Irma Körtvelyessy, from the German Family/Educaton Department, assisted by Wolf Osterheld and Lubelia Palfi, as co-workers.
